Built Strong. Built Safe.
Every Praetoria job site runs to Saskatchewan OHS standards. We're WCB-covered, fully insured, and trained — so you can trust the crew on your property and the work that we leave behind.
The paperwork most contractors skip
Anyone can swing a hammer. Hiring a contractor without proof of coverage and training puts your property and finances at risk. Here's what we carry on every job:
WCB Saskatchewan Coverage
Active Workers' Compensation Board account in good standing. Clearance letter available on request — protects you, your property, and our crew.
$5M Commercial General Liability
Comprehensive liability insurance covering your property and any third party. Certificate of Insurance available on request, naming you as additional insured if required.
WHMIS 2015 / GHS Trained
Every crew member is trained on the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System — labelling, SDS sheets, and safe handling of stains, sealers, and concrete products.
Fall Protection Trained
Crew members working at heights are trained per Saskatchewan OHS Part VIII — harnesses, anchor points, guardrails, and proper inspection of fall arrest equipment.
Standard First Aid + CPR-C
At least one Standard First Aid + CPR Level C certified worker on every active job site, with a fully stocked first aid kit per Saskatchewan OHS regulations.
Sask Common Safety Orientation
Crew members hold the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association (SCSA) Common Safety Orientation — the provincial baseline for construction work.
How we keep your property — and our crew — safe every day
A certificate on the wall doesn't mean much if it isn't lived on the job site. Here's our actual daily process:
Pre-Job Hazard Assessment
Before any digging, cutting, or building begins, the lead does a written hazard assessment of your property — overhead lines, gas lines, slopes, pets, and access routes.
Sask 1st Call Locates
We always call Sask 1st Call before digging post holes or footings. Free, mandatory, and protects buried gas, water, electrical, and telecom lines.
Daily Toolbox Talks
Every workday starts with a 5-minute crew huddle: today's plan, today's hazards, today's PPE requirements. Documented and reviewed weekly.
Tool & Equipment Inspections
Saws, ladders, harnesses, and power tools are inspected before each use. Damaged equipment is tagged out and removed from service immediately.
Written Safety Program
We maintain a written Health & Safety Manual covering company policy, responsibilities, hazard control, emergency response, and incident reporting.
Incident-Free Track Record
Zero lost-time incidents to date. Every near-miss is logged, investigated, and used to improve our procedures — safety is a habit, not a box to tick.
Every crew member, properly geared up
PPE isn't optional — it's checked at the start of every shift. We replace damaged gear immediately and never let a crew member work without the right equipment for the task.
All PPE meets or exceeds Saskatchewan Occupational Health & Safety Regulations, 2020.
- CSA-approved hard hats (when overhead hazards present)
- CSA Grade 1 steel-toe footwear on every crew member
- Hi-visibility vests for roadside and laneway work
- ANSI safety glasses for all cutting and fastening
- Hearing protection for power tools and saws
- Cut-resistant gloves for material handling
- Full-body fall arrest harnesses for elevated decks
- Respirators (N95+) when cutting treated lumber or concrete
